Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Verification & Validation (V&V) to lead V&V activities for airborne safety-critical electronic systems. The role focuses on planning, execution, and compliance of verification processes in line with DO-254 and certification requirements governed by CEMILAC.

The candidate will be responsible for driving structured V&V processes, ensuring traceability, managing teams, and interfacing with certification authorities, while working closely with design, system, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

    Technical Leadership

    • Lead end-to-end Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for FPGA-based and electronic hardware systems.
    • Define verification strategies, methodologies, and plans aligned with project and certification requirements.
    • Oversee execution of static and dynamic verification using industry-standard tools (Questa Lint, Questa Inspect, Questa Prime etc.).
    • Ensure comprehensive coverage through simulation, analysis, and testing approaches.

     Compliance & Certification

    • Ensure adherence to DO-254 V&V processes and guidelines.
    • Drive preparation and review of V&V lifecycle data including test plans, procedures, cases, reports, and compliance matrices.
    • Maintain complete traceability between requirements, design, and verification artifacts.
    • Interface with certification authorities such as CEMILAC and support audits and reviews.

    Project & Team Management

    • Manage and mentor a team of V&V engineers.
    • Plan schedules, allocate resources, and track progress across multiple programs.
    • Identify risks in verification activities and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Coordinate closely with design, system engineering, QA, and program management teams.

    Verification Oversight

    • Review and approve verification plans, test cases, procedures, and reports.
    • Ensure effective execution of RTL simulation, linting, and advanced verification techniques.
    • Guide debugging and root cause analysis of design and system-level issues.
    • Oversee validation activities ensuring readiness for certification reviews.

    Documentation & Quality

    • Ensure development of complete and compliant V&V documentation aligned with aerospace standards.
    • Participate in and lead lifecycle reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.). 
    • Ensure adherence to configuration management and version control practices.

    Domain Knowledge

    • Working knowledge of DO-254 V&V lifecycle.
    • Familiarity with certification workflows involving CEMILAC, FAA, or EASA.
    • Experience in safety-critical and regulated environments.

Skill & Experience

    Experience:

    • Around 10 years of relevant experience in hardware Verification & Validation, with strong exposure to DO-254 compliance.
    • Prior experience in technical leadership or team management roles preferred.
    • Experience in aerospace/defence certification environments is highly desirable.

    Additional / Preferred Skills

    • Experience with requirement management tools such as IBM DOORS.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (TCL, Python, Perl) for automation.
    • Familiarity with PLM/ALM tools for lifecycle and configuration management.
    • Exposure to robustness testing, FMEA, and reliability analysis techniques.
    • Postgraduate qualification or certification in VLSI Design is an advantage.
